Isn't it funny how suddenly McCain became two-faced on immigration?

Remember back in the days when John McCain was a "maverick" (oh that's right - he never called himself that. He only titled his autobiography "maverick"), and he was the leading political voice calling for comprehensive immigration reform? Remember when McCain said of illegal aliens during the 2008 campaign, "These are God's children too?" Remember when McCain criticized the building of a wall between the U.S. and Mexico, and was the leading proponent of amnesty - even authoring a bill with Ted Kennedy that would have provided an amnesty? What happened?
