I'm trying to conceive, but I'm not getting any results -- I'm I testing to early?

the first day of my last period was on June 8th, and I've been having almost everyday since then. My periods are irregular, so its hard to pinpoint ovulation. I thought I had started my period a week ago, but it was light bleeding and only got worse when I had and only lasted about 2 days, so I did not get an actual flow. I am now experiencing pain in my , diahrea, nauseated and lathargic. I took a pregnancy test 4 days ago and it was negitive... did I take a test to early?
